Congratulations to Matthews Coaches on their 2nd SEAI Energy Award in 3 years: Well done to Majella, Noel, Áine, Mickey, and all the drivers!  Winners of the SEAI Energy Awareness Award 2012, against stiff competition. Congratulations also to Dublin Fire Brigade on their Highly Commended award and commiserations to Micam Limited who were shortlisted for the Energy Efficiency Award – Small to Medium Users. SEAI Sustainable Energy Award Winners

“The real winners in life are the people who look at every situation with an expectation that they can make it work or make it better” Barbara Pletcher. Energy Efficiency Retrofit Fund for public and business sector

Retrofit aims to deliver a major increase through this decade in the scale and depth of energy efficiency investments in upgrading existing buildings and facilities. This will require new delivery models to be developed and implemented, including the associated organisational, contractual and financial mechanisms. In pursuit of this long term vision, SEAI will support a limited suite (indicatively 50) of early demonstration projects in 2010 through this Energy Efficiency Retrofit Fund (EERF) to: (a) Achieve significant and verifiable energy savings; (b) Provide key learnings in relation to technical, contractual, procurement, financial and organisational/ logistical elements to effective delivery; and thereby (c) Inform and encourage the early development and adoption of new delivery models. Such projects will be supported in both the public and private sectors. Authentic offer help and advice on submitting applications as well as verification before and after. Authentic feature in SEAI ‘Inside the Smart Economy’ report

From SEAI: Ireland’s ability to position itself as a global leader in the global clean tech sector could have an enormous impact on the country’s future economic development. SEAI has engaged with various market players in an attempt to ascertain their perspective on Ireland’s ability to grow a clean tech sector and grasp its competitive advantage. SEAI met with representatives from 12 enterprises and financiers operating in the cleantech areas and their testimonies have been presenting in the publication “Inside the Smart Economy”.

Firms can cut energy costs by 20pc, says SEI

Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) has announced the completion of 1,500 small business energy assessments projecting savings of €300m.  Businesses taking part in SEI’s SME programme have cut their energy costs by an average of 10-20pc by taking steps such as introducing more energy efficient lighting or changing temperature controls. Irish Energy Standard saves Irish businesses €100 million and leads the way in Europe

Large Irish businesses have saved over €100 million on energy costs since the introduction four years ago of the Irish Energy Management Standard, which forms the basis of the new EU-wide Energy Management Standard being adopted by the EU tomorrow (10 September 2009). CTTC – Complete Transport EnergyMAP – savings of 5-20%

11 May 2009 – Coach Tourism & Transport Council member company’s complete second SEI funded Transport EnergyMAP. Savings of 5 to 20% reported during program with sustained savings of 10%-20% over 12 months.


Authentic appointed SEI Energy Advisors

Authentic’s Conor Molloy and lesley Butler have been appointed to SEI panel of Energy Advisors under the SME Advice & Mentoring scheme for a second time. Having won through in original tender in June 2007, Authentic have won through again in October 2008.


Authentic selected for EMAS capacity building in Ireland

Authentic’s Conor Molloy recently completed the training to help small to medium sized companies implement Environmental Management System to EU EMAS standard. The EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a management tool for companies and other organisations to evaluate, report and improve their environmental performance. SEI ‘Manage Energy for Profit’ training program – January 2008 – completed October 2008

SEI – Sustainable Energy Ireland appoints Authentic Solutions to develop and deliver ‘Manage Energy for Profit’ training programme on Transport energy efficiency.   Initial programme completed October 2008, Authentic won through on competitive tender mid-2008, to develop and deliver further training programmes in 2009.

SEI selects Authentic Solutions December 2007

SEI – Sustainable Energy Ireland – selected Authentic Solutions to supply their content and applications for Transport EnergyMAP in 2006.  In December 2007, we have been commissioned to refresh and update this content for 2008.
