From Eurostat transport statistics: Regional transport statistics aim to quantify the flows of passengers and freight between, within and through regions; differences between regions are often closely related to levels of economic activity. This chapter focuses on passenger transport statistics. This chapter is divided into two main sections covering road passenger transport and other forms of passenger transport (air, rail inland waterways and maritime subsections).
